I'd gut out the speedo not working for the non-working odo... lol But seriously, if it's throwing a code, why not take it in?

If it threw a code(p0500) the ecu is not seeing any activity from the speed sensor, possible that a loose connection, possibly a bad speed sensor. If your speedo was not working but you did not get a DTC(diag trouble code) then I would say check your speedo head, but seeing you got a code and your speedo is not working I would check your connection at the speed sensor, and or the sensor it self for a malfunction.

On the top of the tranny under the upper boost hose is th VSS sensor. Make sure the plug is in. I had my clutch changed and it was not pluged in.....

correct... I bet the code your throwing is p0500. Xede has nothing to do with the speedo don't even bother check that. It is your VSS sensor.

Morality Police Disclaimer: I will never sell my Evo. Fraud is not being committed.

How do I disconnect my odometer? Will the po500 code negatively affect performance?

I know this thread is old but I got the PO500 code about a week ago or so just when I'm about to get my car tuned on E85. I changed the speed sensor but that wasn't it.
Has anyone have any experience with this problem. Can the car still be tuned?
