I had the same problem just recently. I had to replace the stock Advans at 16,000 miles because the insides were bald. I had the car aligned when I got new tires. It turned out the the toe was off considerably from the factory specs. I was told on this forum that the toe being off is what caused the wear on the insides. So I guess my car came that way from the factory.
By the way, I'm pretty much convinced that the Advans are the biggest reason that the car handles so well. I had no idea how important the tires were until I replaced them with an all-season (considerably cheaper) tire. The car just doesn't handle the same now.
