strange "thunk" noise from front of car

strange "thunk" noise from front of car
not sure if this could be related to a possible alignment issue on my girlfriends MR ( HERE ), but occassionally there will be a "thunk" noise coming from what sounds like the front right of the car. it seems to happen sometimes when the suspension compresses and rebounds quickly, like on a rough back road. doesnt happen all the time, or very often, but it does happen and it seems to be suspension related. are there any known issues with something like this? or possibly something loose like a sway bar or something? I havent had a chance to get under there and take a look yet, any suggestions are appreciated.
