I just used the same set of enkies that came with my evo, the advans came off and the blizzaks went on. Cost $85 and that is way way cheaper than getting into an accident. Have absolutly no problems driving in the snow; no abs kicking in, nothing.

you dont need new wheels, just get the blizzaks or whatever and put them on your stock wheels. store your advans in the basement for summer, i do this with three cars.

I have Blizzaks on my BMW rear drive 328. A little weight and I can go anywhere. I will say that the Blizzaks were a handful in the dry until they "broke in". I almost took them off-the car wanted to leap off the road. I stuck with them and after a few hundred miles of driving they were fine. This was my 2nd set of Blizzaks!
My audi a4 has dunlop ds2s. I figured with the quattro I didn't need the Blizzaks. They work great!
I just purchased Dunlop M3s for the Evo. I haven't put them on yet so I can't say how they will perform.
