safer driving during winter???!
hey..i need some help... its snowing here and i was driving my evo down hill and to a stop light...my car wouldn't stop no matter what..it just slided right through the red light and i was going 25mph... man..if its this unsafe driving evo in the winter..i might have to keep it in garage til winter is over...any suggestion?...

wow this is very dangerous..the stock advans are very bad in the cold/snow so change them to some snow tires. the advans loose grip under low temperatures and is very dangerous. I heard the blizzacks are good for snow

New tires are a must. I have Dunlop Sport Winter M3s and they're really good. If you're just sliding on ice or something, sometimes there's really nothing you can do. Just make sure you begin slowing down very early and if you're not getting traction you could always try downshifting and using the engine/ trans to help slow the car.

Blizzak ws-50 is the best studless snow/ice tire you can get for the EVO, bar none.
I bought an extra set of stock enkei wheels and had the blizzaks mounted and they are awesome on any level of snow and especially the ice.
DON'T go through winter with the stock ADVANS, they are deadly regardless if the car has AWD.
Get some snow tires immediately even if they aren't blizzaks just to be safe!

Buy another set of enkies. Guys on here are always selling their stockers. The extra couple hundred for a used set of enkies (curbed rash wheels for winter might be cheaper) and a set of good ol all seasons are worth the cash and keeping your ride from a visit to the body shop.

Get some all-seasons like some Sumitomo HTR+. I have had them on since last winter and the car performed fine even in heavy snow fall. And since they arent snow tires you can drive them even when in dry, where as snow tires in dry wont last very long as you will chew up most of the tread.

how are the Blizzak ws-50 on dry surface?? im from ny sometimes is snows hard sometime it does not snow at all and stays dry have no clue how the winter is going to be but i wanted dunlop m3 but there sold out sucks i guess i can go with Blizzak ws-50 or lm-22
