Evo 8's have been around much longer than the 9's so it's biased to say oh my old 8 dynoed at 217whp. 03/04's have a much lower stock whp than the 05/06's. Of course the mivec is gonna add more torque and smooth our the curve much better but they are not much different than the 05 evo 8's. Depending on the day and type of dyno used 05/06's are very capable of putting out more than 270 to the wheels. I wouldn't believe it if someone said it was an 03/04.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I babied mine too. This is what I did. When I got my car from SCmitsu I had a 80mile drive back to san diego. So I basically drove 55mph the whole way thier never exceeding 3000rpm(I never exceeded that mark for 2000miles). Once I got home I did a oil change(I always use mobil 1 with k&n oil filter because it has the release valve) to remove all the assembly lube this was at 123miles. Then I did another oil change at 586miles 600miles is the books suggested break in period. Then at 1000miles I did another oil change. And from there on I do an oil change every 1000miles using nothing but mobil supersynthetic and a k&n filter. I now have 3000miles on it. I first took it over 6000rpms when it was at 2500miles.
