BOV install question

How the crap can you guys install any BOV without removing the coolant hose? It's so fricken cramped in there, I can't see any other way. Maybe I should have waited until the car cooled down. >_<

I didn't even know it got in the way. It's a 5-min simple install.

Pull the airbox (2 bolts and a clamp?), then bend the intake tube down? It's not rocket science, you can get it in there just fine without removing the coolant hose.

And FYI, even when the car is cool there will be coolant in that hose, when you pull it off its going to go everywhere.

Just use a set of mechanic's gloves and you're golden. I've almost always done mine right after driving while the car was still hot. Those gloves make it simple.

Yea the blow off valve shouldnt take longer than 15min if you are taking beer breaks. Absolutly no need to take the coolant hose off. Take airbox out and you have more room.

When I installed my BOV I was surprised it only took 5 minutes. It took longer looking for my tools.

Yea, once you take a stock airbox you'll have plenty of room and since the air intake pipe is made of rubber you can wiggle and got some flexibility from it so that you can get access in switching out or removing the BOV. I would do the same in getting a pair of gloves as Warrtalon said, that freaking fan has caused me so many cuts.

3-4 minute job! Just move the hose over a little as you install the BOV into the lower opening. The fan shroud IS sharp!

Warrtalon,

You are an institution here and I haven't been around for a little while.
