According to the EIX brochure the new Enkeis shaved off 1.32 lbs. That's each rite? New hollowed cams -2.2lbs. Mg Valv Cover -3 lbs. The Al roof and fenders should be the same as last year.

What does "Compared to conventional manufacturing methods." mean?

The new only Enkies weight 5oz. less then the the VIII Enkies. 4x5oz=20oz=1.25 lbs.. It also say in the fine print don't compare to previous evolution generation.

11lbs... oh noes !!1 it'll lose to older evos now....
must be all that fake carbon fiber

And losing rotational mass means a lot more than overall weight i.e. the trunk
Who cares, it's like we're going to keep the stock rims anyhow...

I wasn't saying the weight has a negitive effect, was just saying its there. Yes, losing rotational mass does mean alot.

The '06 GSR Enkeis are supposed to weigh less then the '03-'05s but I don't know by how much.
You are right on the money David... let me see if our techs know the weight difference!

03-05 evos have hollow cams and Mg Valve covers too. These aren't new to the IX. How do you people not know what your cars have? I don't understand.

Yeah, Thanks Mark, but I don't think I'll be able to get a IX (from you or anyone). I will probably just wait for the X, hopefully it looks great. I think it will look good, I think it either look better then prototype pics or that style will grow on people because the car will be strait dope.
