Weight of Evo VIII vs. other cars
There used to be lots of discussion about the anticipated weight of the Evo VIII in USA. Now that we have them, has any one gone to a scales to get actual weight?
Evo VIII should weigh very close to these cars:
911 Porsche (later model Carerra)
M3 E46
Z06
And what does the normal WRX weigh? My guess is that a regular WRX on the same scales will not weigh that much less than our Evos???
Can anyone post real world weight on any of the above cars or others that we may compare the Evo VIII with?

I just got back from the dragstrip with my 2003 Cobra -
I don't think any evolutions will give it any trouble unless it is raining. The cobra is all 100% stock right down to the tires.
60' - 1.976
1/8 - 8.133 @ 88.85
¼ - 12.441 @ 115.63mph (rev limiter in 3rd)
To back it up, I ran
60' - 2.085
1/8 - 8.246 @ 89.62
¼ 12.521 @ 114.44 (rev limiter in 3rd)
The cobra comes off boost if you let up on the gas to shift... i went from running 13.06 down to these times by just changing my shifting style.
It is perfect weather today for dragracing (www.beaversprings.com). 55F, light wind.
There were some imports but they pretty much all sucked. A VX hatch with 1.7L GSR and slicks was running 14.4. A lightning with aftermarket exhaust was running 14.2
