Buschurs mini battery hasn't given me any troubles yet. Slow to crank some time but kicks on.

Ive got the same setup and have only noticed slower cranking when its really cold out, but the car fires right up.

I second that! I have a mini battery from Buschur Racing, works great so far.

I live where it gets into the sub 0 temps EVERY night. My mini battery WILL NOT work when it's that cold. All i'm doing is using the stock battery that i mounted in the trunk for the winter, and as soon as spring comes, i'll switch to a honda motorcycle battery i picked up new for $45. Works like a champ!

My braille battery started fine in cold weather last year. HOwever, this year it doesnt seem to hold enough charge to start the car. Remeber mini batteries life span is only about 1.5 years. A freind of mine replaced his buschur mini battery after having it for close to 2 years.

Odessey batteries are not suitable for winters. They have very low cold crankin amps.

I plan to revert back to an optima battery and be worry free for years to come.

No problems here in Texas! :P We did have an ice storm a couple weeks ago while I was at work. 1/2 the car was ice but it still started right up.

I have a power cable that was once connected to a amp can I use that to hook up to the positive terminal from the front to a extra mini to the rear for more juice? If I recall its not really a large cable though.

IMO it's not worth the weight savings.

Get an optima yellow top! probably the highest CCA, and its small. Optima's kick ***, you can mount them upside down, has the best vibration resistance of ANY battery, and will NEVER EVER leak since it does not use conventional acid, only drawback is its price, BUT you get what you pay for.
