I use FRAM as well. I know it's cheap, but i don't have a choice up here in ND. Besides that, when you change the oil as much as i do (2000k) My oil looks clean as the day i put it in, so i know the filter isn't THAT bad when changed so often.

man, opinion is all over the place on this, there has been a number of investigations of filter build. fram did not come out very well. is it a big enough problem to worry about? who knows, peoples luck varries too.
having read some of the reviews of filters, I don't use the frams, instead ordered some baldwins over the internet.
still, I suggest reading those tests on filters, there were a number of filters that came out very well.
btw, this has been discussed a number of times before.

pure one - 98% filtration,
i also have a "filter mag" on this so im sure its around 99% now.
i dont know that much about the mobil 1 filter but ill try it in the spring
the pure one story: i have a 95 subaru wagon with 180000 mi. we've had it since it was new. using the pure one after 3000 mi. i checked the oil before i drained it and it looked like i had just put it in i was amazed. i had to check the milage again to make sure i wasn't changing it before it was due. not a real amazing story but good none the less.
also stock subaru oil filters like the ones the dealer use are PURE ONE'S they sat it on the box along with "genuine subaru parts".

pureolator this last oil change, and I got the one that the book said to get. I cant rmember the numbers off my head, but it was skinnier and longer then the mitsu filter. The gasket still met up with the where its suppose to.
Kind of weird though, I didnt feel like it was as good of a filter.

I just picked up a case of 10 OEM Mitsubishi oil filters from Ebay really cheap....
Came out to $48 shipped, or $4.80/ea and I have a buddy with an EVO who is buying 5 of them from me. So I figure 5 of these filters should last me 15,000 miles of driving.

I bought a mobil 1 filter m1-108 and it was tiny compared to the factory filter that was on it, I about freaked...I then went and bought a wix and sure enough it was the same size as the factory...Why is the mobil-1 smaller than what is spec'd for the car? I mean its mobil 1 you would think there oem replacements would be identical in size to oem??... In the book thats the filter it had listed, I seen someone else posted that the m1-110 is the larger version so my next oil change I may go look at it, or I will just go with purolator or wix again...
