whats ur opinion on this?

hey everyone i need ur opinion on this ...i saved up 1,660 for a tbe and some basic boltons

my cars stock for now, but after talking to some people about turbo kits and such, i have decided to keep the 1660 and save more money for what i eventually want, gt35r turbo

soooo later, in like 2 yrs or so, ill be able to drop all the stuff at once like: gt35r kit, bigger intercooler, ic piping, fuel pump, cams, injectors, bov, ems, tune, exhaust, gauges.......and the list goes on...

so basically watever supporting mods u can think of for a new turbo...my question is what do u guys think? u think it'll be alright? should i go in steps or just dump it all in at once? thanks

i think u should do it in stages personally. I think that u probably are building a faster and more powerful car then u think and $1660 is but a mere down payment for what u're looking to finance.
Its real simple and has been stated over and over again. Start with this and see where it gets you:
1. Boost controller-hallman, forge, both tried and true.
2. TBE-Megan, Logic Performance, both very good quality and good price.
3. A flash- Dynoflash, Turbotrix, both offer $200 mail-in flash that u wont regret.
3a. if u get a flash they probably will recommend a fuel pump for ur mods also.
Start with this and see how you like it. It will be a great improvement over stock and might be exactly what u are looking for. Before i began modding my stock turbo, i had dreams of gt35r's too. Now that i have some mods on my car, i have realized that i probably will never have to go that far!

Would you rather stay stock for 2 years then dump a ton of cash into a huge turbo kit that may or may not work and that will be questionable as a daily driver? You would also have to spend a lot of money to reinforce all of the drivetrain parts to handle all that new power, so don't think of it in terms of engine/power supporting mods for the turbo...think of it in terms of supporting mods on the entire car that need to be done.

You can take that $1660 and get all of Warrtalon stages 1&2, including installation, then still have $130 left over for taking your gal to dinner (or if you want to add an intake). This would put you at my full level of modding minus the clutch...

if u search and im not mistaken the gt35r is only highway fun (for stock 2.0L)....for days at the track....not so fun. so maybe not so big of a turbo is more what ur looking for.

I would do it in steps and you may end up not even wanting a turbo kit.

Only drivetrain reinforcement really needed is clutch... my stock drivetrain on my old 03 evo handled well over 500whp of hard abuse... than again it all really depends on the driver... with stock turbo I only blew my TC due to abusive powershifting... with my AMS GT35R setup ive had no problems with drivetrain

I'm in it for the AutoX and prefer to use my stock turbo with quick as poop spool up. Down low is where its at IMO.

Lag is overrated for the street! Just downshift and you will be in boost. More importantly the medium to large size turbos of that top end charge that a smallish turbo wishes it had. With the larger turbo at least you can choose how much fun you want to have.
