Maintainence pricing..

Ok, don't shoot the messenger, just was looking up some pricing info on maintainence stuff. I'm sure that it may be off a little, but here's what I came up with:

Serpentine belt = $64 (normal price, nothing big here)
Brakes:
Front Pads = $129 / set
Rear Pads = $103 / set
Front Rotors = $245 / rotor
Rear Rotors = $240 / rotor

Headlamp bulb (Xenon) = $96 / each (Now, these bulbs have a life of 10,000 hours, so they should last almost the life of the car)

Struts:
Front = $289 / each
Rear = $136 / each

Springs:
Front = $68 / each
Rear = $61 / each

Spark Plugs = $22 / each
Wires = $36
PCV Valve = $20
Air Filter = $20

Alternator = $1,126 (This supposely is a computer variable/controlled special alternator for the Evo. A DSM alternator will not work)

Anything else you want me to check?

I'm actually not surprised by the pricing.. Actually, the disc's are cheaper than I was expecting.. Now the alternator.. Wow.. does it give lap dances too? What about the typical tuneup parts outside of the standard filters and plugs.. specialized fluids, etc...

Wow, the plugs cost almost as much as the wires do and that's for 1 plug only. I can get a set of NGK plugs for my DSM for $10. I'm sure these are the same.

I asked that myself. They think that the Evo plugs will be a lot different than the DSM plugs. Possibly higher tolerance, or heat rating? They said they'll be different. We're going to look on our next Evo.

Im wondering though who is really going to need to change the rotors before the warranty is up? I mean I assume since Mitsu is being so strict about the warranty that not many people will be doing any kind of modifications so as not to risk voiding the warranty. But hell after your warranty is void. Then whooo hooo!!! RRE here I would come!

Ahh, some of those pricing is high even for being retail. Would you please double check the PCV valve, Air Filter, and Spark plug pricing again. Why is it so high in $? I think the plugs are a set of 4. Please confirm.

ImportPepe, those prices are not bad compared to our local prices, or worse getting them from the UK. I am seriously thinking of bribing FireBall into getting me some pads!

That makes sense on pricing now.

Why do decides to go irridium? Would they void warrantee if people go regular platnium? I would like to know the advantage for going irridium.

Anybody

I wonder if any dealers out there is willing to do an evolutionM discount on parts. This way we could give them more bussiness for better prices?
