FWIW, I'm surprised Mitsubishi has kept the 4G63 in the evo for as long as it has. Dont get me wrong, its a great motor - I'm just amazed that they've kept it all these years.
There were rumours a few years ago in Japan about switching over to one of the GDI engines. Never heard anything else on it though.

really sad, isn't it? After some odd decades of the evolution of the engine, the X better live up. But hey, maybe it'll be like Honda's new K series (i.e. better than the B series whether we wanna believe it or not).

maybe sometimes people dont want to sift thorugh 125 pages of bullcrap and want one thread to get a simple answer. I didn't kill anyone to answer the question.

Evoled, don't sweat it. I didn't give you a smartass remark, but I found it amusing that a guy went elsewhere to confirm what we've already talked about 100 times on here and when we have an entire forum dedicated to talking about the X. People just need to look around a little before posting...
