So you actually called the PD once a day and asked when this guys days off were and scheduled your court dates around that? and it worked huh.
I still have to put in the first plea tho i'm going to mail it in pleaing of coure "not guilty" and then they set-up the next trial but try to compromize with you before this court date and adjust things accordingly to your liking pretty much sometimes they dont do anything, they just leave the ticket as is. Do you think i should go tot he seconf court date or try to reslve it before the second court date, but after the first? (Sorry if this is confusing)

Interesting strategy. As a reformed speeder I can tell others that the show-up-in-court strategy has worked for me more than 50% of the time (which is pretty good, considering the alternative of just paying the ticket).
For what it's worth, here's my history, in those cases where I disputed the ticket:
1) The officer didn't show, and the case was dropped.
2) The officer did show, but I brought a lawyer (for $50, in 1978), and photos of the intersection where I allegedly ignored a (non-existant) no-left-turn sign, and case was dropped.
3) The officer showed up, I was going to lose my license, and the prosecutor offered me a plea bargain of dropping the reckless driving charge, leaving only the speeding charge. I declined, and defended myself and had the reckless driving charge dismissed ('cause I had used my turn signals to change lanes at 135mph), but they didn't drop the speeding charge. Lost my NJ license and had to fall back to my NY license for 6 months.
4) And just last month: was stopped while exiting the tunnel out of the Big Dig in Boston, for going 62mph in a 45mph construction zone. Completely bogus 'cause the officer said he used laser, but my detector was silent, and I know that I wasn't going that fast anyway. Showed up in court for the preliminary hearing, where the officer doesn't even have to attend. This was Dec 21. Started to give my explanation to the clerk magistrate. She just cut me off and sent me home with the case dismissed. I wished her a Merry Christmas. (I hope she wasn't Jewish or Muslim or something. :-) )
Bottom line: always go to court, unless your time is so valuable that it means more than the increase in your insurance rate (the actual cost of the ticket is insignificant in comparison).

3. (and the option i use the most, but im sure will get flamed for obvious reasons). call the precinct for about a month everyday and find out which days per week the officer in question has off, and reschedule your court date for the day in which he has off. ive done this 3 times and theyve never shown up for me, but YMMV.

no no no, u dont call and ask for his days off, lol, thats kinda obvious, lol. call everyday and ask for him. if u get the response of hold on ill get him, hes obviously there, lol. if u get the, hes off today, then call next week on the same day and see if hes there again. with luck and patience u can plan your court date (well ask the judge to postpone the date) to when it will be the most inconvient for the officer... since he did likewise to u, especially on xmas day.
dont get me wrong, i have cops in my family, and i have a lot of cop friends (in fact im trying to become one, lol) but giving someone a ticket on xmas day for not that much over and the fact u say u honestly didnt know the speedlimit is just wrong. i mean pull u over, sure, warning ticket, sure. full blasted ticket, i mean come on, have some heart for xmas right?
theres also no way he was that hard up to hit his quota... and yes, no matter what a police officer says (at least in my state anyway) they have to give out a certain number of tickets a month

I know honestly if i was a cop i wouldn't give anyone a ticket on their b-day or christmas, it would just be a nice gesture, unless of course it was something rediculous. thanks for all the advice, not really sure which to do cuz the place i have to go is more than 2 hours away from my home town, during the week, i think on a tuesday. it makes it kind of hard, i think i am going to mail in the first plea, and go from there.
Then talk to the city attorney, and see if they can reduce the ticket, if not then i will ask to see the officers certificate to pace, and the full calibration on the speedometer on the car that pulled me over. i mean he didn't even pace me for a half a block, even if he did he was about 200+ yards behind me and far enough away where he couldn't be accurate enough if he was catching me or staying steady with me

OK just for an update, i called the Court house yesterday and asked them if i could fax in my plea, instead of having to show up for the court date because like i said earlier i live over 2 hours away from this place. Anyways i talk to one of the girls there and she says that they don't have a fax machine i am like WTF?? a court house that doesn't have a fax machine? Ummm OK? then she was a real ***** towards me, well if you send it out today it should be here in time for your court date. Hopefully not after.
The odds aren't looking very good for me i think. 1- a court house w/out a fax machine. It sounds like they need all the money they can get, and 2- the lady being a real ***** towards me.
Im screwed

wow thats a really great idea evolved8, its too bad i cant use this for my next court appearance in which im am very likely to lose my license.
a little off topic, i got 3 tickets in 1 sitting and i pleaded not guilty in the mail. This was about 1.5 months ago but no mail has been returned to me stating the court date. Is this normal? Who should I call to see wtf is going on?
