Is my evo totaled with 20k+ damage?
Yea well i got my car appraised at the body shop today, with all the damage including the transfer case and tranny, it came out to somewhere near 23-25k, no official word yet cuz many of the parts prices arent even out cuz this car is low volume..I would assume that it is totalled as far as i can tell, what do u guys think? If it is then i'll start off fresh and go buy another one lol...

It has to be 75% of the total value of the car to be a total loss in most cases. You're really close. I hate to say it but they might be fixing that car. I'm assuming its the 06 MR you're talking about? Sorry.

yea it is an 06 MR, like i said the prices arent official yet...But the cost value of my car is just a tad over 34k so 75% of 34 = 25,500...yea well i hope its a lil more cuz this thing will never be the same again!

Sneak into the body shop late at night and torch it.
Seriously, I think insurance will total it. Estimates always tend to be low anyway. The shop will inevitably find more parts that need to be replaced and it'll jack up the estimate even more.

A body shop did it?? no insurance Adjuster? What do you owe on the car? It usually depends on that, especially since its a 06. My 05 just got totalled out, I owed 23 damage came in at 29300...do you have pictures?

It comes down to which way the insurance company can make the most or loose the least amount of money.
I would have to think they would total that though. When my wife got T-boned in her 3 week old IS300 sport design that stickered @ $32,000 it had $18,000 worth in damage by estimate and they totalled it after making us worry about it for a while.

Absolutely positively totalled.
My advice here: you want the car totalled, obviously. Don't take it to any body shop your insurance co. recommends. Take it to the body shop of any Mitsu dealer. They will give you a high estimate. Then show the wreck to the Mitsu used car sales manager, and ask him: "Now that you have seen the damage, if this car was repaired to a high standard, would you sell it on your lot?" He will almost certainly say "NO WAY." Try to get it in writing. Tell your insurance co. what the used car manager said.
Don't let them repair the car under any circumstances. Fight fight fight. It took me 6 weeks to convince my ins. co. that my 350Z was totalled. It was worth the hassle.
