I'll do it as soon as I figure out how .... You should consider one yourself. It's a great way to dress up your EVO

Actually it says something along the lines that towing with the EVO is not recommended..... I want to add a hitch mounted bike rack and I seriously doubt that I'll ever tow anything with the car. Besides, in light of the huge number of people that modify their cars extensively and much more radically than by adding a tow hitch.... I think it's pointless to say that

I have wished they would make a hitch for our car so I could get one of these:

Tiretail

A hitch would also be nice to carry bikes, which is what silverEVO8 was looking for one for.

I want a hitch on my evo as well. The biggest AutoX i've been to had well over 100 cars. When i got there i laughed at this little miata with a hitch and a camera mount. To my suprise, he won... And by a few seconds too. Now when i go to events, i look for those with hitches to be the ones you need to watch out for. Plus, i'm going to buy a set of race only rims and tires and don't want them IN my car. Nor do i want my race gas in there.

The hitch is a custom made part from an EVOm member. It is extremely well made and installs in about 15 minutes, no cutting required.

Its a homemade hitch from Rallytrack.

You kind of have to make your own decision on what you could pull with it. I would not be afraid of 250lb of tonuge weight or even a bit more based on the design of the hitch. But considering the EVO has 0 tow rating I dont plan on going over about 100lb. As far as a wave runner it depends on what kind. One of those big 4 seaters, no. This hitch would be a class 2 which generally have a 2000lb rating, I believe.

Towing with an EVO is kinda like modding an EVO. You have to make your own descision on how far to push the envelope. If you want my personal opinion, based on personal experience with other cars, my limit would be about 1000lb with 200lb tonuge weight. While being carefull to not go very much over the 4222 GVWR of the car. This means a 1000lb trailer and 5 people are definately out of the question.

More on this setup: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...7&page=1&pp=15

These hitches are nearly completely hidden from view. I think it would be great to have a tow trailer for racing events.
