Tow hitch question....

as for towing, think of it this way.
If the factory allowed towing, first thing someone would double the allowed weight.
The car has good brakes, but track guys manage to trash them, so if you tow don't drive like a racer.
The car has good power, but the trans, front dif and car itself was never designed for extraneous loads.
On the other hand if the tongue weight doesn't exceed what a logical man would put in the trunk (remember trunk weight isn't behind the rear bumper, factor that in) what is the difference.
If you tow like your dog is on a leash behind you, you will prolly be OK.
tongue weight and gross weight are different. tongue weight can not be lightened by put the load on the back of the trailer. iow keep the trailer heavy on the hitch. for a light load maybe something like fifty lb on the tongue. So keep the balance forward of the trailer axle. some one correct me if I have remembered wrong 60% weight on the hitch?
If your load requires 100lb on the tongue, then you are getting close to the no go point.
