Unhappy is my engine ok?

i was redlining 3rd and went to shift 4th but sumhow i caught second. the rpms shot to almost 9k and i instantly put the clutch back in...after it happend the car seems fine...did i just cause some major damage???

I turned mine 9500 rpm the other night doing the same thing. My engine is is fine.

As long as its running fine you are ok. You should only be worried if your engine is obviously not running right and you hear noise from your head. Too high of RPM can cause valve float which will cause the valves to stick open longer than they should, and your pistons can slap the valves. You shound like you are fine though

Dont worry about things you cant controll

Just keep driving and listen for any new noises and keep your fingers crossed

well i hear no noises...the only noise from the engine is at idle...the ticking sound...which from what i understand is common to every evo

You're in an Evo, not an S2K, you should be fine, had you been in an S2K... well, alot of them bend the valves in that situation, thanks to the 9k rpm redline and vtec

shoul be ok, the internals are strong on this car and the rev limiter low.
