All Evo Owners Hail, question...
Hey been keeping up with the threads here since the EVO 8 was announced to be intro'd into the United States. Just sucks that we don't get all the gizmos that the Euros and JDMs get but hey its keeping our costs down over here.
Anyways, I am a proud owner of a Honda Civic Si 2006 , brand new.
I know, I'll probably be flamed for even mentioning a honda in this forum but I have my reasons and here me out:
1. EVO too expensive in cost and insurance, especially since I am buying my first built home in a few months.
2. I've never driven a manual before getting my Si (stupid reason, but I thought it was a bad idea to wreck a $35k car rather than a $19990 car).
3. Upgrading from a minivan to a Civic Si is a better adjustment than from a minivan to a monstrous machine the EVO is.
4. Got Si at MSRP and I heard the dealers around me (chicagoland suburbs) are marking the EVOs like crazy.
I know I wouldn't even be able to hang with you guys in the performance area but I've got to say that the Si is a really fun car and have been on Si forums and found some EVO owners switch to Si.
Don't get me wrong my dream car is an EVO- HANDS DOWN: hate the new look of the STI, MAZDASPEED 6 is watered down, ACURA RL- too expensive, SUVs suck gas up and unsafe.
Here is my dilemma: I am afraid that the EVO 10 will be too radically different in concept than the tried and true form the EVO is in now. Should I start saving money for EVO IX 2007 or for the EVO X or just stick with my Si and wait for EVO XII.
WHat you guys think?

go drive the honduh off a cliff, tell Insurance it was stolen, and go buy an EVO 9, stop worrying about if and or when the "X" comes out, what it will be, who cares, you may hate it compared to the 8 or 9. btw dont do what i said other than get rid of it and get an EVO.

Well I understand where your coming from with not wanting to start out with a beast of a car like the an EVO. I came from the honda world. I drove my DC2 for 10 years and loved all 10 yrs of driving that thing. Now I drive an EVO 9, and I REALLY LOVE THIS CAR. This car is great for street driving or freeway driving. The handling is amazing on this thing. All my friends freak out when I punch this thing on the freeway . As long has you use your brains and not drive the car like an idiot I'm sure you will be able to handle this beast. even with all this power Mitsubishi has made a user friendly car IMO.
