My Evo project

My car has been down for about two months now. My motor blew downing the car. Since then I have aquired a stock motor. I'm only awaiting my ARP rod bolts then the motor will be completely assembled and ready to be dropped in. My plans for the other motor is to build a 2.3L Turbo Trix stroker. My goal is to ultimately shoot for 700whp. In the meantime I'll be running the stock turbo with some new goodies.
Here are some pics of the stocker that will be going in almost complete. I'm using all ARP fasteners. I was going to reuse the stock rod bolts as shown in this pic, but I decided to pull the pistons again and put in some ARP connecting rod botls.

Here are some of the extra goodies that will be going in. The Forge WG has the red spring in it. I also installed my UTEC. My motor blew on a Sunday and I got the UTEC delivered to me on that Monday, haha. I also installed a GM Map sensor along with the UTEC map selector switch.

Here is my interior as it sits right now. I'll be installing a system. I'm using some old school stuf that I had in my S10 about 3 years ago. The amps are Planet Audio. One two channel for the sub and one four channel for the fronts and rears. They will be mounted underneath the driver and passenger seats.

I also pulled out my Clifford G4 alarm. It came with the car when I bought it. It didn't do anything that the factory alarm didn't do already. I was tired of it interferring with my turbo timer. Kind of defeated the purpose of the turbo timer since it would unlock the doors everytime the car shut off.

Here is a custom carbon fiber din panel a buddy of mine made for me. I'll be mounting my HKS EVC display unit along with an Innovate XD-1 gauge here. I plan to have them recess inside of the panel for a clean look.

Here is some recent pics. I installed the Helix O2 housing and assembled the stock turbo. I'm debating on whether or not to get the 10.5 housing. Right now I lent the turbo to a friend who needed to send in his Innovative turbo to be rebuilt.

Decided to relocate my gauges since I will be using the DIN panel to mount my HKS EVC display and an Innovate XD-1. I will be placing the amp for the sub on top of the box now instead of mounting it underneath a seat. Also, I may decide to put the cap onto the box. I may just mount it off in the corner of the trunk.

Lookin good Barry!!! Your car should be a beast. I say get the 10.5 hotside, if you are trying to build a stock turbo beast for now, you might as well get the most out of everything. Thanks again for letting me borrow your stock turbo. I overnighted mine out today, should be there tomorrow morning for them to tear it down and rebuild it.

I may opt for it in the future once I hear more about end users' opinions on the failsafes out there. For right now I have to concentrate on just getting the car back up. I'll look into it definitely though. Thanks.

Thanks man. I think I will wait and see how much I'm getting back on taxes before I decide on the 10.5 hotside.
