Anyone get their issue today? It doesn't have the exact correct link, but it states that there is a thread "boycott these dealers" on this website.... i think their link was forums/evolutionm.net/
they just forgot the part about "Evo General".
in the same issue is that Yummy 2003 Cobra Autofile.

Here's an email I just sent to AutoWeek:
to: mfloyd@crain.com
Dear Mike,
My name is Rob Lescaille, AKA 'Coolguy949' in the evolutionm.net forums. On behalf of myself and rest of the members at evolutionm.net, I was to thank you for featuring our boycott thread on your web site. About a month ago I was so disgusted with the dealer mark-ups I decided that something needed to be done. My friend Dino (AKA 'drmosh') and I discussed starting a boycott thread and see how people would respond. Now looking back, I can say that the response to this boycott is much greater than I ever anticipated. I get several emails per day thanking me for starting the list and/or emails with new dealers to add/remove from the list. When I went to a local dealer here in Southern California, the salesman mentioned a "stupid boycott" going on when he was trying to justify the markup, telling me how Mercedes S600's are marked-up and no one complains. Well, a 8% mark-up isn't much to complain about vs.. say a 50% and as bad as a 100% mark-up (Santa Monica Mitsu $28,000!!) at CA Mitsu dealers.
Word of our boycott has made its way to other forums including the NASIOC and i-club.net Subaru STi boards, where they have started their own dealer mark-up threads hoping to thwart dealer attempts to gouge customers on the upcoming and very popular Subaru WRX STi. Due to the price mark-ups here in CA, I may be forced to buy my EVO outside of California where dealers are not marking-up (e.g.. Arlington, TX and Kansas City, Missouri). However, a lot of members, including myself, are hoping with the release of the STi and the fact that the economy is in a rut, Mitsu dealers will no longer be able to sell them over MSRP and will need to unload them fast.
So again, I want to thank you guys at AW for helping us spread the word on this boycott. There are a lot of people like me in here that are waiting for MSRP with no added accessories or mark-ups. Your magazine is very well known and will really help us with this boycott. Thanks again and let me know if you need anything!
Sincerely,
Rob Lescaille
