Nice sweeping generalization.

What's a Mistubishi owner then? Can't buy a Lexus?

to me when people cut down on a members new (different) ride it's only because they're jealous.

I don't believe that mistubishi has a "upscale version". they are already upscale, especially when you're talking evo.

R32 cars I like from VW.

I bet 95 out of 100 jetta owners would swap it for a 3 series in a heart beat, even though the new 3 is disgusting looking.

Pretty much, yeah. The vast majority of people who buy Mitsubishi's can't afford a Lexus. This doesn't bother me, just as the above comment shouldn't have bothered you, especially since the Evo is unlike any standard Mitsu, just as the R32 is unlike standard VWs.

LOL, apparently some of them don't think the IX's are capable of 300whp with just a flash, nor over 300whp with a flash, mbc, and a turboback.

there are good and bad things about every car

I never had an R32, but I owned an S4 (B5), M-Coupe and a Cooper S before purchasing my JDM EVO IX. They were all great cars in their own rights and I still remember and miss certain aspects of each.

The low down torque & interior of the S4
The flowless power delivery and intimacy of the M-Coupe
The go cart feeling, easy parking and oh soooo predictable handling of Cooper S

There were also negatives about each car:
S4 was pig heavy and the power died (big time) in higher rpms
M-coupe had a decade old suspension and small space
Cooper S was just too cute for me and did not have much power

I bought my Evo 9 four months ago and love it as a machine. It is the best 'drivers car' that I owned so far. But I still remember the good points of each of my cars - interior of S4, engine and intimacy of M-Coupe and the predictable handling of the Cooper S

I think that we should all be thankfull to live in a time where there are sooo many good choices for us motor heads Happy motoring

Lowering the Evo and some big 18x9.5 wheels make a big difference in terms of appearance.

Heck, just lowering it and getting rid of the SUV ride height makes it look good.

My lust for the R32 lasted about two weeks, I still have all the pictures on my DIgi, that ended when I drove an RS. Still feel like I should have got the RS

Umm... a IX can't make 300whp with just a flash. This thread is really forgetting the difference between crank listed values and "wheel horse power". Yes the car makes 280 at the crank stock, but that translates to much less at the wheels. You won't get 65WHP from a flash.

Haha, man, you are WAYYYYYYYYYY behind the times. Where have you been, brother? The IXs are LISTED at 286BHP, but they are actually putting down 270whp on Dynojets. Then, with JUST a flash, they are putting down 300whp easily. Hell, go look in the drag racing forum to see the IX that already ran 12.09 with a TBE, MBC, and _mail-in_ Dynoflash all on pump gas. In fact, he trapped 112 while bouncing off the rev limiter before the end of the track. That means he probably would have trapped no less than 113mph, which indicates 330-340whp. IXs are way more powerful than you think. Did you really not know this?
