Just picked up my RR Evo IX RS

Had to go back to work, but took a few pics. Even driving around like a granny, the IX feels stronger off-boost than the 2003 VIII I traded in. Really needs a wing though, I'll have to end up getting one for it. Evo's look naked without them. Happy they fixed the problem with the Hot/Cold knob, it turns really easily now. That was my only gripe with the interior of the VIII.

Can't wait until I get past break-in so I can see what this thing can do!

Just curious how much did you get for your evo8 trade in? Did you put a down payment on your new evo9 as well? I'm still deciding if I should trade my evo8 for a new evo9. Is it worth all the trouble?

I paid straight invoice, which was $29,744 including destination. I got $20K off the Evo VIII, which had just under 22K miles on the odo at time of trade in. I never had any clutch/tranny problems with the VIII, and I left it with their service dept for a day to go completely over it.

I put $500 down, which went to purchase price. I paid $300 to get the car in from another dealer in Minneapolis to Omaha, because it was a dealer trade.

The RS, at least in the midwest, seems hard to get ahold of. Maybe some other people will have better luck getting a deal than I did. I'm happy, don't get me wrong, but I'm not much when it comes to wheeling and dealing.

congrats on the car, are you gonna turn this into a daily driver, or a full on track car? what was your reasons for picking the rs over the mr or gsr model?

It's going to be a RallyCross/daily driver. I went with the RS because I was looking for lightest weight which helps more in R/C than power does. Plus I didn't want ABS, because ABS and EBD gets freaked out when you're driving on dirt and all four wheels are experiencing pretty different levels of grip.

I originally wanted Wicked White, but couldn't find one, so went with red. I've only had the car 2 hours and it's really growing on me. The Evo looks pretty bad@ss in red.

I attached a pic of the wheels that will go on the car for rally cross. Still waiting on my custom front brake kit to clear them. I also have Yoko A033 gravel tires in the basement to go on the wheels.

Luckily where we rally cross, it's dirt fields which don't do much but get the car dusty. My previous car suffered more scratches and chips from driving on the Interstate from trucks and cars throwing up rocks.

Nice whip... get an aftermarket wing if you really want one... I wanted white too but now I really like the red... the red paint is high maintainence though

I am very interested, but at the moment, cash poor. If you don't sell it before I can buy it off you, you got a sale. If the price is unbelievably low of course.

On another topic, what are the flapper doors in the trunk for? I never noticed them in my VIII, and don't know if it had them. It's windy as h3ll here today, and I noticed them "breathing".
