Anywhere from 10-15whp difference between HFC and test pipe. Yes, the Megan test pipe is resonated, which makes it look kinda like a cat.

Girlie, I hadn't heard of it being normal or expected for a cop to get under a car and check for a cat. The 2 times I've been ticketed for loud exhaust in my 4 DSMs, neither cop even thought about looking under the car. Maybe they check for that stuff in WV, though, I dunno.

We have a select few cops here that get a hard on for busting modded cars. I did have one that literally got on his hands and knees looking for a cat, as he swore I did not have one. Car was lowered though with side skirts and he couldn't see though (it did have one by the way).

No problem. These kind of videos are what I searched for when making a choice on exhaust, just glad to help out the others who may be looking.

Thanks for the video, and thanks for putting the stock sounds in there too! Really helps for those of us with the IX's!!

You went with the HF cat and what they call the loud muffler right? That's probably wait I'd do.

Just rode in a buddies 03 with 3" TBE with HF cat and the quieter magnaflow muffler. I loved the sound, but could stand some more volume imo.

Got a question for ya, does the Mivec make the exhaust do anything special in the upper rpm ranges? Like in the Honda/Toyota Vtec's, it gets a lot louder when than other cam opens, didn't know if anything like that happens?? I doubt it, but was curious with the aftermarket intake combo.

Bump for the intake vid too!

Man, always one step behind, boomn. She told you in the OTHER thread where you asked this that there is no difference in sound. MIVEC is not VTEC - they are not the same and are not really similar. MIVEC is only active up to 6k rpm. VTEC doesn't activate until AFTER 6k rpm. Totally different devices...

I know it's not the same, I've owned VVTI in Toyota's before. I was just generically referring to them.

And sorry I can't manage to read 3-5 different threads all at once...my bad. Be nice dude; just researching. It's really hard to find IX specific threads at this point.

Normally, it would be hard, but in this case, your question has already been answered in a thread you participated in. Then, I pointed you to the answers to your other questions, but you didn't read them (or didn't follow my instructions to find them). Just saying that all this info is right at your fingertips, but you're brushing over it, ignoring it, or just not looking where I point you. I can't figure out which...
