Oops! We did it again.

Some of you may remember a little while back when my brother had recieved Evo mods from his wife on X-mas without him knowing. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=x-mas

Well, she did it again! With my help of course . She traded his 05 silver Evo 8 for a 06 white Evo 9. He was clueless again and alittle stunned .
All of the parts installed on the Evo 8 will be removed by the dealer and reinstalled on the new Evo 9. I hope much of this stuff will be interchangable?

RSR Exmag exhaust
Turbo XS downpipe
Highflow 3'' cat
Logic i/c piping upper and lower (painted gloss black)
Weapon R engine dampener
Autometer boost gauge
Greddy type s boost controller
Greddy auto turbo timer

He is on the list for a dyno day at AMS. He will be recieving a dyno tune, exhaust cam, fuel pump, and ARP head studs. Not sure if we will need the head studs or fuel pump? I guess I'm happy for him all over again.

1) The parts should be interchangeable, but the individual exhaust pieces may not be 100% perfect. Since he had an 05 before, then it's likelty these will fit, too, because the 05 already had ACD. The LICP might not fit due to the new turbo, but if I'm not mistaken, the LPI LICP connects to the turbo outlet pipe instead of replacing it, which means it should still fit. The rest will easily go on the IX...

2) No, don't need a fuel pump upgrade, but hey why not...it's only $85 and doesn't come close to equaling the gigantic amount of money that has been spent surprising this guy (very strange that this happened twice and so much money being spent in such a manner)

3) Exhaust cam has not been proven to give gains yet, so keep that in mind

4) If you do the cam, might as well do the studs. Again, cheap mod that provides safety and thus peace of mind.

Warrtalon, as much as I may not like you, I think your right with #1 and #3. Partially right with #2. We will probably not do the fuel pump. He got a stupid deal on the Evo 9, I saw to it that he did.

Sorry guys, she is an only child..(no sisters)
She suprised the hell out of me again, but it was only possible because LITE SPD was giving my wife a unheard of deal. That was sweet. The money difference almost came out even. I won't do cams at AMS but will get the flash done there as scheduled. The IX makes a ton of power with the flash and the previous bolt ons from the VIII will help I hope bring the WHP to 330 to 340 and the same for the torque. I am going to wait for someone to make a cam for the IX that really makes some power rather than going with the exhaust cam that is out there for the VIII. Im sure the upgrade will truely be worth it and anyone else thinking about it will not be unhappy. I have to put some quick miles on the car before it gets tuned by AMS Feb 16th. I think 600 or 700 miles should have the car broken in nicely and ready to rock. I got 85 miles on it so far and still smell the cat breaking in. To bad it won't be on the car for very long.
