Will this pass smog?
I live in CA and am looking at buying a used evo with the following mods:
HKS 272 Cams, HKS Carbon Ti exhaust, Cat Delete, HKS RS intake, Hallman MBC, Turbo XS BOV, Walbro 255 fuel pump, and Dynoflash.
I can already tell that I'll have to buy an OEM cat to make it pass smog. Will any of the other mods put me in risk of not passing a CA smog test?
Thanks

Fortunately in VA (also very strict) they only do visual and OBDII testing. No more sniffer - no CEL, no problem! I passed with roughly the same mods as that last October, but I have a highflow cat. I did have to take off my SAFC2, it seemed to be causing some problems reading the data. Who the hell knows.
You should tell the seller you'll buy it if it passes. Also maybe he's selling because it WON'T pass, and he doesn't want the headache...

Remember, In CA, the seller is responsable for the smog.
Next, If you and the seller say your step-brothers (I know, but it doesn't matter, they never check), you don't need to smog the car to tranfer it, but still will have to smog it when the reg. is up.
Last, If you live in So. CA, I bet you can find someone to do an illegal smog (usually cost around 300$).
DO AT YOUR OWN RISK-- DOING THE ABOVE STUFF IS ILLEGAL
