HKS blow off value

You don't tune for a BOV. You add a BOV to properly hold higher boost. The HKS SSQV is not recommended on an Evo unless you are running a speed density setup.

Why is it .... why a BOV ? Why does every newb ask about a BOV ? Why not boost gauges or cams or cam shafts. Man, you guys need a role model. THE WORLD DIDN'T START AT THE BOV!!

Yes i will admit i own an HKS SSQV and have used it on my evo.....but there is a good reason i dont have it on now an wont put it back on...... And as for a role model most of them have one "Paul Walker"
So that means you are/were one of those people too???

i don't know about hks bov not being recommended on our cars... i think it's all about recircing and not messing with the knob settings. there have been plenty of people that have cited no problems with hks recirced. then there are a lotta idiots that have managed to **** it up.
speed density is a different type of air "metering" system. and i say metering with quotes because it doesn't really use a meter like the maf. it instead takes the temperature of the air and the pressure in the manifold and then does a mass calculation and feeds your car fuel that way instead of measuring how much air passes through a meter.
this method of air "metering" has its advantages and disadvantages. one is that you don't have to wrorya bout metered air... the air is calcualted at the intake manifold so what you smell is what you get. you can search the vishnu forums or the evo9 ecu tuning thread on why speed density may be inferior to air metering.
speed density is the choice of stand alone ecus... so most all stand alones are capable of going speed density. maftpro is another way of going speed density. search these topics and find out more.
