i need to decide...

im saving up for a car right now. when i turn 18 my parents agreed to co sign on a car loan for me. maybe only 10 grand or so. ive been lookin at some cars. EVO's too but i cant afford. i cant really decide whats the best used car to get that wont cost too much in insurance. i was lookin at hyundai tiburons, dodge srt 4's or a celica. im not lookin for crazy amounts of power, im going for affordable but i dunno which car would be better. any opinions? thnks. any other cars u can think of would help too.

I would suggest a FWD car simply cause they're easier to learn on and get the basics down pat without causing too much damage (my lancer survived me basically learning how to drive manual without so much as a clutch problem). SRT-4s are a great car for those just getting into the whole tuner and racing scene.

Gen IV Maxima... They are classy/ you can get it with a 5 speed and they have just under 200Fwhp. Great car and very reliable.

P.s. Don't be afraid of high mileage on the Maximas either.

I would definitely say your best bet is a FWD manual car especially considering your experience (not intended as an insult, just pointing out the obvious). It'll help you learn the basics and work on the more advanced techniques so when you eventually buy an evo, wrx, etc. you'll be able to drive it without any problems whatsoever (and not be one of these dumbasses who blows their clutch out after 5000 miles or breaks their tranny). Better to start small and work your way up than bite off more than you can chew.

srt 4 gets my vote. FWD and manual plus you get the turbo experience. Used aren't too much more than 10 grand.

How about a 2nd gen eclipse? A GS-T(fwd) or GSX(awd). If you get the GSX it would be even better because you could learn how to drive an awd car so when you upgrade to evo/sti you will be used to driving awd.

srt-4. Buddy just bought a brand new white acr. Its a blast, it handles corners well at 45 and is pretty damn fast. Suprisingly quick. Dont buy a used gsx, you'll spend the amount u paid on transmission/drivetrain problems

I would say a Eclipse 2nd gen or a nissan 300z. Even a honda crx. All these cars handle great and have a lot of power
