He is only saying that your AWD is a disadvantage because he wants to run from a "Ricer Roll" no doubt. I can't believe people forgot how to drag race.....
I still race from a roll (on a closed circut ofcourse....) because only 1/100 want to go from a dig. Besides, I like to tell them to run Supra's from a roll when they bring it up. That usually pisses them off but I love it. Good Luck !! If you can drive you will win from a roll. Most Neon's I see at the track trap 105-110 when having the "usual" mods. I trap 114 so no worries from a roll.

 

You still shouldn't have the intake installed until you get the ECU flashed. There's only one reason for you to be running around with that cone filter untuned, and it's not a very flattering one...

A stock IX can beat a stock SRT-4 from a dig and from a roll, but the SRT-4 is close enough in power that a good driver could beat a poorly-driven IX. What that guy doesn't realize is that the IXs are putting down 260-270whp TO THE WHEELS. Yes, AWD loses more power from the crank than a FWD, but the IX is terribly underrated...kinda how the SRT-4 is terribly underrated, because they published its WHP numbers instead of its crank numbers, which is why no one realized how fast they really were at first. Still, you would absolutely crush his 220-230whp anywhere up to 100mph, and after that, he'd hang, but not gain.

If you go from a dig and you know how to launch you will easily beat him, from a roll it may be a little closer, but the IXs (and 05 VIIIs) are stronger up to and you should pull from a roll too. Race him and find out.

Dude...first off if you lost to a stock SRT4 than you shouldnt be driving an evo! My buddy has a BONE STOCK IX RS...ran 13flat at 106...The evo is WAY more car than an srt4...granted I have seen a few neons putting down 450 wheelhp...but those are few and far between...tell you'll race for 500 and see if he is still man enough...you may just be able to pay for your next mod....

 

as long as it is a 1/4 mile battle your fine, but dont do any highway runs.....those things are geared for top end!

my friend has a completely stock 03 or 04 srt-4 and the first day i picked my (completely stock) evo 8 up from the dealer he wanted to race me on the highway. i declined b/c im not into street racing, but im just cerious do you think i would have won? He is a really good driver and i would like to think i am at medium skill level.

 

In my opinion you need to give mom and dad back the keys to the EVO cause you're rather immature and it shows with how you react to that punk. "This guy said this about my car and it hurt my feelings. Everyone believes him." boo hoo hoo. Cry me a frickin river guy and get over it already. Do you know how many times a punk has revved up on me or shouted how slow my car is?? All I do is laugh and they speed off all pissed off like I said something about their momma. Their reaction is even better than kicking their *** in a race. Your reaction to what people say shows just how mature/responsible you are for driving such a fast car.

 

funny.. no iam 23 and i believe he just turned 19. but carmax feels like iam in hightschool, since there are alot more younger people now. btw iam a manager and dealing with other empolyees word gets around quick.

i just raced an srt4 the other day bone stock with my evo ix that is stock and from a 3rd gear roll and i coulnt pull away from him but then we did it again from a second gear roll and i had him by at least 3 car lenghts.............

 

did you then do a 4 th gear roll tie braker roll

 

yeah ok dude, i asked a simple question about a car that i know nothing about and you comment with useless information.hurt feelings hardy. and btw i haven't street raced any of my vehicle since i have been driving. my first car was a 94 z28 that i bought myself when i was 17 never raced. second car was a 96 ws6 formula that i made into a drag car, i ended up selling to my father which is now a weekend warrior. my thrid car was a 03 evo bone stock traded for the 06, last month. all my cars i paid for by me. i was waiting for a jackass to make a comment like this, seems like its hard to make a thread with out somebody turning it into a flame war. next time don't bother commenting if its not going to be usefull
