I think the truth is that the Evo IX actually makes more than 300 HP. According to Vishnu, they're estimating around 320 hp at the flywheel on 91 octane. Looking at the R&T comparison:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....&page_number=2

The STI goes to 60 in a believable 5.1 secs, whereas the evo MR does it in 4.6. Now, 0-60 is a poor indicator of hp, but the trap speed difference between the two is insane...

You can have almost as much fun with the Subaru on back roads, but when you're up against an Evo, "almost" means 2nd place.

LOL

I wouldnt think the SSL package with the sunroof or not having the MR aluminum roof would make a dramatic difference.. of course weight is weight, I dont think its gonna be super noticable. However if I was getting an Evo I wouldnt get the SSL, something about the recaros with leather im not a fan of.
quit making excuses. STI got smoked, end of story... go cry about it on NASIOC or whatever...

Yeah dude,... the mag has gotten about half as thick, 1/4 of the tech articles, 2 times the advertisements, and 100% more garbage than before.

real mature, I suppose it could look like im just a disgruntled STi owner "mad" that my precious car lost in a comparo, but thats just not true. I was just pointing out somethings I thought were silly in the edmunds review, I personally have never really like their comparisons if it ever involes performance cars. I love Evo's and I try to be as unbiased as I can... I dont see any problem with what I said. I just dont think you need to be rude, but then again this is the internet so whatever.

no need to spill hatorade. his post wasn't intended to whine about anything. i think the numbers those guys pulled out of the cars r too slow for both cars. they should be much closer. that's just how it's always been.
oh and i'm not fan of leather recaros either, eventhough they look cool.

It's as if Edmunds wanted to give the STI a chance by choosing the most top heavy, not to mention heaviest overall, Evo. Yet the Evo still wins. Mud in the Subaru's Tribeca-esque face. Tribeca, please.
