Been there... it is just the poor quality of materials. It will happen in all EVOs. How fast just depends oh how much you rest your elbow on top of it. If you manage to get it replaced, it will happen to you again.

As I noticed it wearing, I made a habbit of trying not to rest my elbow there to prolong the life of the poor quality fabric.

I would not want to have CF there, there is not enough padding for the elbow as is now.

I wish the arm rest was extended, or maybe I have short arms, but It would be nice to shift while resting the arm on it. Probably some interference with E break all the way up but when Do you need it all the way up?

Mine has 16,000 miles no wear looks okay, but do I use it?

I was just wondering... Have you all considered changing out the fabric yourself?? Mines starting to come undone in my lancer on my Driver door. When I got to looking at it it looks as though you can heat it up and take it off w/ a heat gun maybe. All they did was use Upolstry Glue on it... I have a 02 OZ rally so it may be different. I will try and post pics when it is redone.

How far back do you guys sit? I'm 6' tall and there's no way I could get my arm on the center arm rest without contorting my body or practicing the Gangsta Lean.

Get the carbon fiber piece for the arm rest. I have it on my 06 IX and it matches perfectly with the dash design. Of course it's not free, but aren't our EVO's worth the extra TLC? lol..

it's a sign u drivin ur evo too much at ease! should learn to drive with both hands, and let go of the gear knob when u dont have to shift.. 25,000km still looks like new..

Mine looked worn.....ended up being really dirty. I pulled it off, washed it under the sink with some soap and water, and let air dry. Looks great now.

I have a 03 with 47k on the clock.

+1 for normal wear and tear... won't be covered. Every car i've been in with cloth on the side or wear you would normally rest a part of your body is worn. My driver side door skin where my knee sometimes rests against is worn.

well you see, your aftermarket head unit, which allows you to listen to music louder and thus allows you to rock out harder would cause premature wear on your armrests as you rub against them harder than usual...follow me?

therefore, it's your own damn fault.
