Is the Evo IX drive-by-wire?

I searched and I searched... If it is, can a IX owner comment on any driveability issues?

It uses a regular throttle cable, like the 8 and previous models.

the throttle is controlled by a servo or stepper motor. your accelerator pedal positions is indicated by a potentiometer, and when the potentiometer changes resistance, it changes the signal going to the stepper or servo motor telling it to open farther or close. the ecu is what sets that signal so if something goes wrong it can override your throttle input. i beleive they also modify throttle position electronically to increase torque output and optimize throttle position for the load the engine sees. something you cannot do by touch.

there is no longer a cable connecting your pedal to the throttle.

I have yet to find a DBW-equipped vehicle that felt "normal"-- my '05 Tundra with a V-8 came closest. The '06 Civic EX (don't ask...) that I drove was entirely artificial in feel with the whole clutch/gear change/throttle application process-- gave me a fit though I'm sure I'd get used to it. I'm sure it's a proven technology and reliable I just... hate it...

no issues,,do you know how many cars are DBW now?? I had some in the past. The new corvette I think is a DBW animal.
Sure I'll take the good old fashion way over DBW but there is nothing wrong with it..

just like when ABS, AIRBAGS AND SYNTHETIC OILS CAME OUT...
now everyone wants them.
