if you want to make life easy, just pull the whole turbo, mani, and 02 out at once.. its alot easier..

That would be a real headache if you haven't already replaced the two studs in the turbine housing that go into the manifold.

I agree that the best approach is to remove the turbo. Then do the manifold, hot side and O2 all at the same time.

O2

I have done 2 alresdy one on my 06 MR and an 03 GSR. Not that to do. But I had a lift to do them on and snap-on 14mm long box wrenches help. So no step by step pics tho. The O2 for mine was alittle hard because it comes out to a 3" flange same used for the exhaust so I had to cut the lower front studs 1/4 shorter

Not to hi-jack your thread, but is it worth it to install the 02 housing & headers on an 05? Do you really notice that big of a difference? I've already installed a full TBE & injen intake, MBC,255 FP,BOV & custom tune by Al.

I would definitely do cams first.

I was hoping to avoid opening the engine. So I would'net get the full benifit without the cams 1st?

Mods like this work in conjunction with each other. The header/02 will yield higher gains w/cams and they're the next step in the natural progression of mods given what you've already done. You can expect 30whp w/tuning on the conservative side by adding cams. You might see 10-15whp w/the header/02 and tuning.

From what ive read recently a tubular o2 is a safe and reliable choice providing you keep the stock manifold. I plan on running the ebay o2 w/ceramic coating and the Buschur ported/coated stock mani.

What difference does the stock mani make with the o2 housing? Shouldnt it work equally as well with a tubular header? I have not read in any threads recently that the stock mani was a factor.

Anyone else concur with this? I know that the coating makes a difference.

Its because most of the aftermarket o2 housings doesn't come with support bracket. All the weight will be on the manifold now. With that said, stock manifold which made with cast iron should hold up better compare to other aftermarket mani which made with SS.
