ummm, LMAO!!

the S2k is 11:1

and you CAN turbo the S2k, very easily

the shop that does the work on most of the sports cars around here have more than 1 S2k making over 350whp with a turbo kit on completely stock internals

and 500 whp with race fuel, the the stock block STILL was able to handle it

but the 350whp s2ks have been running flawlessly for over 2 years

turbo kit, aem ems, cams, exhuast, clutch....

If it's the latter, that's not a problem with the aluminum block but rather the engine's layout which you alluded to. I mean the aluminum around that particular cylinder isn't melting away, right? It's not cracking? What about warpage?
You should remember that the STi block is also an open deck designed block to relieve stress and pressures of a forced induction unit. Mitsubishi's Iron 4G63 is the closed deck design. The new 4B11 in the X will be aluminum with an open deck design. I must say though...the 4G63 is bulletproof.

I'll admit I didn't read this whole thread, accually probly like 3 posts, so if someone said this already, then I'm repeating it. The Evo has a turbo, you cant compare it to NA motors. You would have to base it off of a 4g63 without the turbo and a higher compression ratio. Otherwise it's apples and oranges.

Oh, and if I remember correctly, the rx7, and rx8 had the highest power vs. displacement. But that's a rotary, so apples and oranges again, sorta.
