Thinking about an Evo 9 MR... Help...

Well as the title says I am thinking about getting an Evo 9 MR. I had a 2005 Subaru WRX STi about a year and a half ago then sold it due to relocation at the time but am now in the marget again for lets say... another race car! At the time I had the STi the best evo out was the standard evo 8 as the MR had not yet been released. I drove the car and frankly was not that impressed. I didn't like the fact that it only had a 5 speed box and I didnt like the interior so when driven back to back with the STi I chose the Subaru as it also felt a little quicker. After selling the Subaru my friend bought an Evo 8 MR which he let me drive and I loved it. Today I decided to test drive the new Evo 9 MR and I was blown away. What a machine... Well now I am sold on the car I have a few questions ? ? ?

I live in Los Angeles, what price should I be aiming to pay OUT THE DOOR for a new Evo 9 MR ?

Are there any factory options for the MR worth adding or are they all fully equipped ?

I am 22 years old and I am looking at full coverage. I do have a clean license so what should I be expecting to pay and who am I best off going with ? So far the best price I have had is with Mercury who quoted me $250/month.

N e way great forum u guys got here and I look foreward to becoming a real member when I actually own the car and thanks in advance for any responses.

South Coast, Long Beach and Victorville have the best prices in the country. I plan on getting an MR from South Coast very soon.

I have talked to Mark (from South Coast) and he is very nice. Everyone he deals with always say he is very straightforward.

Never ask for OTD prices. Those are variable dependent upon local taxes and registration costs. All you should concern yourself with is PURCHASE PRICE. If you can buy from SouthCoast Mitsu, then go there as Borti mentioned.

You should also learn to search before posting new threads. It is mandatory per the big link at the top of every forum, which states the rules clearly. The whole insurance thing has been covered in several HUGE threads, so you can get tons of info regarding insurance by searching. You also would have found the SouthCoast stuff if you had just looked at the threads on this first page of this forum or again if you had searched. Just try to get in that habit.

I'm curious. What do you do at the age of 22 that makes you able to afford $250/month for insurance and $600/month for a car payment, which basically makes it $1000/month total once you included gas.

Ok so it seems they really do have the best prices. I will give them a ring tomorrow and see what the deal is OTD...
Thanks,

Ok sorry about that, I will do a search next time before posting. I always ask for the OTD price as this is what it actually costs me out of pocket, I hate hearing a price only to find out its not the out the door price and OTD will cost $3000 more than what was quoted. Also I live in CA and I would only but a car here so tax and title ect will be the same throught CA I imagine, thats why I ask.

Oh one more Qu. It there any dash kit that will allow the relocation of the climate control funchions so that a double din Head Unit could be fitted. I am imagining the Climate Control will go where the gauges go now so where will the gauges then go ?
Thank,
MarK.

The point is that only the purchase price is negotiable. The rest is non-negotiable, so there's no reason to go around asking for OTD prices. TTL isn't always exactly the same throughout an entire state, so again, the ONLY THING TO DISCUSS is the purchase price. You work to get the lowest purchase price possible and don't let them add any additional costs, and don't let them get you on a trade-in or financing.

Come on, man, this is an Evo MR you're buying, not a Pimp My Ride Ford Focus. Please don't tell me you're already thinking about some computer screen head unit or anything. The gauges and radio can be switched so that you can see the gauges, but I'm not familiar with any special adapter for what you asked, and if you did it, the gauges would have nowhere to go.

Since when was adding a touch screen navi to a car considered pimp my ride. I like navi and an in dash unit is cleaner than any pop out screen or stand alone dash mounted unit, all this with an mp3 and dvd player is a bonus. I had an eclipse AVN unit in my STi and would never want a car without it again. Furthermore couldn't the gauges be relocated to another location on the car ?

Nope 22 years old full coverage on the evo 9 MR and that was the exact figure they gave me, how can it be 800 for you, there is no way our locations could make that much of a difference is there. Thats half of my best quote so far with mercury of 1500 every six months. Regardless thanks for trying...
