IX engine reliability?

I should be getting a new IX within a couple of weeks, and was searching about common engine problems, and reliability issues.
The one thing that caught my attention the most was spinning bearings.

1. How common is that problem?

I also noticed most spun bearings were on 03 models
2. Is the IX engine any different from older models dealing with this problem?

3. Are there any other common problems I should be aware of ?

I will be doing some basic mods, turbo-back/flash/MBC, that’s about it, it will be my daily driver, But I will push it to the limit, not beat it.
After all, IMO that’s why most EVO buyers get them (to push them), otherwise a Corolla would do the job for half the price.

TIA

Its too early to say what engine problems can occur. You read about the 03's, because there are alot out there now with high miles/lots of mods. etc.. Just have to wait.

We don't know anything about the IX "engine reliability," because they just came out, and there haven't been any problems yet. The head is brand new, so I would expect SOMETHING to happen eventually, but so far, even with tuners pushing the MIVEC hard, nothing has failed that I know of...

The spun bearings thing has happened, but it's very rare, and if it does happen, it's covered under warranty. Yeah, I know it would be a hassle, but at least it would get fixed for free.

Btw, if those are the only mods you plan to do, then I have the perfect package for you in my sig. It's just what you need...

Warrtalon, I have a question. If you don't include the cat-back and the forge rs then how much will the package cost and will it affect the tune at all if I get a different exhaust?

Just PM me in the future.

With any change of parts, there is no package. You just pay regular price for everything.

No, it won't affect the tune with a different cat-back, so that's not a worry, but you have to get the whole package to get the great prices.
