You definitely get what you pay for sometimes... Geico and progressive is cheap for a reason - their service sucks when you do need them.

I had mods on my VIII and had to make a claim, they didn't even know that I had mods. Its not like they know what parts come on a EVO stock.

I'll keep you posted.
Back when I had my Supercharged Civic w/ GSR motor I had to get insurance for "Special Equipment" so that if anything every happen I would get how much I put into it, and not how much a reg. Civic blue booked. On the Civic though I had over 10K in Mods (3K for stereo, 4k for GSR swap, 3K for S/C, etc.) and the car was only worth like 6K (KBB). That was a little different though, because the mods on the civic cost 200% more then the car, with the EVO, my mods only cost about 10% of what its worth.

But now if anything were to happen, I would take my car to my shop before I called the insurance company and make the car stock.

Both were a total loss. I fought and fought with them over price, and when it came time to pay up, they payed far less than what it would cost to replace the vehicle..

Get your car pre-appraised... Submit that as the replacement value to state farm, then insure if for that amount... You will pay more a month, but then at least they cant stick it too you.
