I won't believe that Toyota is going to make another 'supercar' until I actually see it on the showroom floor. They don't even make any type of sports car at this point. I don't see why they would go as far as to make a $150,000 car when they are making huge amounts of money by just selling the Camry and Prius.

They wont make one until they get some winning placement on their F-1 Cars and 24 hour endurance racing.
It's suppose to show case their ability in F-1 formula racing, etc.
It's called marketing advancement for the company.
It's like Buggati making a Veyron. They're loosing tons of money doing it, but the company will get into the supercar status game, which means better reputation for the car and better image for the company = more money they could charge for their current cars and more risk they could take in the future.
