05 RS FOR IX RS? Help me decide!
I have the opportunity to Trade my 05 RS (Never Modified) in pristine condition for a 06 IX RS for a $4677.00 difference.
MY 05 is paid off and I will get $23,500 trade in for it. the 06 IX RS is selling for $25,999 plus Tax and fees.
I paid $29,300 OTD For my 05 last Jan.
I will have to Finance the $4677.00 My wife is not giving up any more money for Cars!
Your opinions please, Is this a stupid? Wise? Please be Honest (I can take It!)
I thought I should add that I will keep the IX bone stock.
WOULD YOU DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think if you plan on keeping the IX for a while, you should go ahead and get it. But if you plan on getting something new in a few years, then you should just keep the VIII. The IX would be a definite upgrade though regardless.

I am really not sure I would like the X I am more (old School) EX: If I were going to buy a Motorcycle I would look for a Sportbike that was still running Carbs. I drove a modified SU Carb 240z for Ten Years and surprised lots of Mustangs and Camaros with that car. Chances are the X will be to refined for my taste.

WITH $4000+ you could make your RS better than the current.
so maybe your wife is right.
If you really want it, I would wait a while before jumping into buying a new RS now.

You would be paying about 0.27 for every mile you have put on your car. It should be closer to .24-.25, so about 4400 to 4500 bucks is what the difference should be.
What is the going rate for every mile you go over on a lease? That is a good way to determine the amount you should pay per mile.
All you are doing is paying for depreciation, but you'll get a car with new tires ~1000 bucks right there, along with the ix upgrades.

this is not a bad deal.
Considering new tires/brakes, fuild flush/maintanance, wear and tear(dents/ chips), extended warranty from 05 to 06(1 year warranty goes for $500 3rd party?) and of course a IX instead of VIII(resale value down the road? altho the VIIIs are holding very well themselves).
