it sounds like ur hitting fuel cut..at least thats what it sounds like. The problem with most aftermarket intakes is it messes up you MAF readings i suggest just going back to the stock airbox and putting in a HKS or K&N drop in filter.

yeah fuel cut is noticeable...ok so u are only boosting .7 in every gear?umm u might want to try and unhook the battery to reset the ecu to see if that solves anything

im gonna make this simple? DO u have a flash that incorporated or the person flashing knows u have a injen intake on. Because to have gains on an CAI intake in an evo u must have a flash that incorporates the intake. If u have an intake without a flash, MOST likely u will lose power. That is ALL.
If u have a flash that incorporated the intake then there is something wrong with the installation of the intake. Check all pipes and etc.

I can't believe they are raising the price, mabye yes for the IX's but not the VIII's.
There is no excuse for this just profit gains.
Ok I'm ready to take the heat.................

EVO8DUSTU.
I had the exact same problem you had on my MR. I just went and got an Injen intake and didnt believe everybody that said you need to tune for it. Well anyways you do need to. I had the intake on without a tune for 2 months. And just like you I never boosted the same and it was always cut off at about 1 bar. I have heard on the MR there is a fuel cut or boost cut something to that extent that saves your engine. Anyways maybe thats what the problem is. Oh and also just taking off the ECU to the battery will not solve anything. Been there done that. There are only two solutions.
1. Remove your intake and go back to the stock box.
2. Get your car tuned. Either with a flash or with some kind of tuning device. I got a UTEC and got tuned and have not had the problem sense.
If you plan on sticking with a modding path I suggest to get a tune. But if your going to stop with the intake I would suggest go back to stock. Anyways hope this helps.
