WORKS has been flashing the launch control into '03/'04 ECUs (as well as '05+)shortly after the '05 models were out and featured the limiter. Our default setting is 6K, but we can vary that and give you a custom limiter if you so desire.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Would you like to join our twelve step recovery program now?

What is Works claiming with their 03 solution? Is it just adding a rev limit at time of launch with no clutch restrictor? Wouldn't it work the same and if so, I would bet Dynoflash has a solution as well right?

Well I tried launching my car again but this time without "poping" the clutch (as I dont want to make baby Jesus cry) and slipped it insted, howver this time all I got was a slipping clutch and the wonderful smell of burnt clutch for the rest of the day .... I think I'm going to hold off on any more launches till I by a new Exedy.

That would mean youre slipping the clutch way to long.. When we say slip that doesnt mean let it out in a matter of minutes. But dont pop it. "Slow pop it" if you want to call it that.
I watched my friend try to launch his evo and i think baby jesus must of almost killed himself... My friend was rolling at 5mph while he was slipping it, for a good 5seconds.. All i smelt was FRIEDDDDDDD (went past the point of burnt) clutch.

But whats this i see with everyones launch limiter set to 5,000rpm?
My car is set at 5,500rpm from the factory... And i asked someone else local and they said they thought 5,500 is standard... (His is raised to 6,000 now though so kinda hard to check.)

So are the 06's just set to 5,500? Or is my car just some odd ball?

I just read an article about it being set at 5.5, was going to ask about this myself? Does anyone know?

5000rpm was the set limiter on 05s, but there was a place where I read that the IX was supposed to be 5500rpm. I thought it was a misprint, but I've heard multiple people claim that it's set at 5500rpm now. If so, then they basically gave the IX an awesome way to launch instead of their true intention, which was to keep people from launching. 5k was kinda low, but 5500 is awesome.

Can you IXs verify that it's 5500rpm and not 5000rpm? It bounces, so be sure it's well above the 5k point and almost bouncing to 6k...

I can verify for sure that its at 5,500rpm's. It just sits there bouncing between 5,000 and 6,000 obviously. Ill take a vid if i can.

is it alright to keep it floored for like 5 seconds then when you start to launch you keep it floored? cause you have to wait for the lights so i think it would be easier just to have it bounce off the rev limiter instead of watching the rpms and the lights.

You have to keep it floored, otherwise it doesn't work once the clutch engages.

You can wait 5s if you want to, but there's really no reason to do it that long. Just stage, wait a sec for your opponent, then get the revs up. Don't worry about the tree at all...
