February issue of EVO magazine
Greetings All:
There's an interesting article (actually a couple of them) in this months EVO magazine. EVO is a British based motoring magazine. This months issue caught my eye as it compares the new Audi RS4 to the BMW M3 and AMG C55.
The Audi is one smoking machine - 414bhp V8, delivered through Audi's quatro 4wd. The comparison is well written and entertaining - I won't spoil the ending for those of you who wish to read it.
The REALY interesting article follows the one above, when EVO takes the Audi, a Porsche Carrera 4 and the Mitsu FQ-340 around a 1.8 racing track. And the times are:
Audi- 1:28.60
Porsche- 1:25.75
Mitsu- 1:24.55
The Mitsu Evo beats the mighty Audi by over 4 seconds on a 1.8 mile course, never mind the Porsche!
I know we don't get the FQ-340 in the States, but with a decent exhaust and tune, 345bhp is very doable from our humble Mitsu's.
Don't we drive an utterly stunning car?

Well, the real question is : How much faster is an Evo with SAYC (JDM or EDM) than a non-SAYC Evo (USDM) around that track?
It is hugely impressive that it murdered RS4 by over 4 seconds a lap though.

Correct, the title of the magazine has nothing to do with Mitsu. It is one of my favorite magazines but, it gets expensive between it, CAR and Top Gear at about $10 each. I usually choose one a month.

Same here I know which one I'm getting this month... BTW, Borders carries it too, at least around here.

The worst is even if you get a subscription it's still like a $100 a year. I wonder if you can get an on-line subscription.
Does the RS have SAYC in Europe? There has to be at least one model over there without it.

I guess we're lucky to get the RS here.

way off topic (but talking about the RS), I was watching Best Motoring Vol. 13 Enduro today and the Evo they race is actually called the Evolution VIII MR RS... I thought that was interesting...
