hood vent question...

hey wassup, I just bought a used evo a month ago and I was wondering if its okay to take my car to a carwash?? my brother told me that since I dont have a hood vent for my car, I have a risk that when water hits the manifold... the manifold will crack.... so is that true? is it okay to drive my car into one of those automatic car wash?? thanks for your input.

It's no worse than driving in rain.

Dont take your car to a carwash period. Hand-wash only. Secondly, no the manifold will not crack if water hits it, thats false.

Soon2BEVO is right. Try not to take it into a carwash unless it's the kind where the machine never touches the car.

Just wash the car by hand or don't wash it at all. I wouldn't risk damaging teh car just to have it look clean.

Well it depends. After I go through the machine and come home, I do a little spot check and it does sometimes miss a little dirt. But in all, it takes seconds to clean up. Plus, at the place where I go, it's a good deal. If you fill your tank at the station, it will only cost $5 or $6 for a car wash.

Hand Wash Only

The Evo Paint Always Seems To Be Very Fragile So Taking It Through One Of Those Washes Could Lead To Swirls On Your Car. I Recomend Getting A High Grade Wash Kit So That You Can Do As Little To Damage The Paint On The Car. I Personally Use Tropi-care Detail Products On My Car Due To The Fact That I Found Out That Meguires Uses De-ionized Salt In There Products As A Method Of Helping Blend The Scratches. But It Also Can Damage Your Clear Coat If Your Not Carefull. Not Saying Its A Bad Product Just Not The Best For The Worlds Greatest Sports Car.
