tune and octane ..
this concerns about the custom tune i am gonna do to my evo by turbotrix ..
i know the info i must give out is .. our fuel octane in here ...
well i have been asking lots of people .. and didnt get a straight answer ..
so say it's 89 oct, some 91 .. some 92 .. and even asked someone who works in the gas company he said it's in 90s ..
the question is this .. if i send my ecu for the tune and tell them that we are running on 91 oct ... while it turns out our real oct is 89 or 92 .. is there any harm gonna be to the evo ??

Octane and engine damage
If you run a higher octane gas than what you are tuned for, the only negative that could happen is that you lose a small amount of power.
If you run a lower octane of gas than what you are tuned for, the only negative that could happen is that your engine experiences detonation and is destroyed. Tell Turbo Trix about your situation and have them perform a less agressive tune than normal. Sure, you won't get as much power as you otherwise might, but you will likely end up saving lots of money on replacing your engine.
