I have been pieceing together my IX. Here is my mods list so far.
Apexi Power Intake
Helix 3" Downpipe Version 2 (waiting for delivery)
Ultimate Racing 3" testpipe
Buschur Racing 3" SCCA Catback
Turbosmart MBC
HKS 272 exhaust cam (saving cash)
Dynoflash (saving cash)

How much Hp you guys think I'll hit on 93 octane???

depending on your flash, anywhere from 330-350 at the wheels.

 

You're probably looking at 60~70whp gain with a good tune. As for the cams, I would hold back until there are more definitive and empirical evidence supporting the gain on IX's. Good luck.

 

Add something to adjust a/f and a wideband. Tune the s**t out of it. These cars have so much potential but without the ability to see first hand where you are or where you are not, your taking a chance and assuming the flash is at the best tune it can be. This is just my opinion and if you do a search you will find multiple war stories on ? flashes.

 

I want to be in the 400 whp class. I know if i did both cams with my mods I'd can be pretty close. I know that with Alky injection I maybe able to achieve that. I need to learn more about alky injection before I think about it.

 

Depends on who's tuning and honestly who's dyno you are on. If you are going to Pruven and having Al tune it, then you should make around 330-350WHP on pump gas on their dyno. 330-350WHP seems to be the average power put out by IXs with similiar mods on that dyno.

 

There was a thread yesterday about a guy with an IX running a 11's. He claimed like 375whp or something. Dont quote me on that but thats what I think.

 

Hold off on the exhaust, and just use that save money for the flash, u'll be much happier.

Oh yeah as far as Cam, I don't think you will be hitting 400WHP even with both Cams. A while back I thought IXs would easily hit 400WHP once Cam/Cams came into picture but this has not been the case, this is on pump gas of course, you may hit it on race gas and higher boost.

If your willing, it would make a lot of us members happy if you installed all your mods and did a couple of pulls, then installed the Cam with further tuning to see the gains. Maybe Al could hook you up on some pulls so that it could put this Cam mystery to death. I know Turbo Trix has done this, but more evidence would make a lot of us feel better.

I have the exhaust mods already. the only things I dont have is the cams and the flash.
If I get both cams done then I have to save up another 1500 between the cams and the flash. I was thinking of getting the exhaust cam and get flashed by next month. i want to see if the intake cam cost go down. Also i know HKS is going to have something out soon hopefully. I know with there your going to be able to control it. Worst case I'd have everything listed in exception for the intake cam.
