Will this 20G be a direct bolt on? Buschur's still uses the stock parts including the exhaust manifold and doesn't require a header. Which makes me lean toward Buschur...keeps the stock look.

You're basically getting a turbo kit when you go the route of the real 20g. Yes, I could have made TONS more power with probably the same amount of money invested, BUT I wanted a street killer, not a lag monster that only likes c16. The 20g honestly drives like it should have come on the car, boost comes on very linear, and the car just keeps pushing you further and further back into the seat. Honestly I've only taken the car to 7 grand because I'm scared to death of it, it's that fast compared to my old setup.
I see full boost at around 3800rpm, and from 3800rpm to redline the car just hauls....I'm talking...I went over a bridge that crossed a four lane road, coming off an exit ramp at 35mph in 2nd gear, floor it, and I'm doing 95 as I'm coming off the bridge....what's that? a couple hundred feet?

This turbo isn't for someone looking to make 650hp, I would imagine that the kit WONT be comparable in price when compared to the 20g9, but honestly you get what you pay for.
If you're trying to maintain the stock look, I don't know what to tell you, this wont be the setup you want to go with, if you want to make 400 on pump, and more on alky or race gas, but don't want to have so much power and so much lag that the car isn't any fun in the street, then maybe you should see how far the rabbit hole goes =)
Thanks to everyone for all of the comments, PM's, questions. I'm glad that we could stir the pot a little bit here on Evolutionm.net and the Evo community as a whole.
The car itself is going to see A LOT of racing time this year, with mid 11s as the goal, and no major failures of engine or drivetrain parts as a secondary goal. Once I get a few more parts and some accessories (some styling changes, some gauges that I need, etc) we're going to be pretty much done with the car.
I like the idea of using an AEM, but honestly after reading someone that commented on the "real world" testing of this kit, I think I'm going to stick with the flash and piggy back route, it makes our testing more for the guy like me just trying to have fun and not trying to build and all out race car.

I know you said that the new setup makes full boost by 3.8k RPM's, but is there useable power before then...say between 3k RPM's and 3.8k RPM's?

Another checkpoint would be that at 3500rpm, he has 110whp/110wtq. On my stock 05 turbo, I have 225whp/335wtq at 3500rpm. Then, at 4500rpm, he has 270whp/310wtq, and I have 300whp/350wtq. AGain, the overlay would display this perfectly, but I can't do it without the runfile. By 5500, he starts to overtake me as he has 350whp/330wtq with the torque still climbing, while I have 340whp/320wtq with the torque declining. So, from 3500-5500, I have a huge advantage, but after 5500rpm, he'd run away from me. This current setup looks like a great drag car with all the power between 5500-7500rpm, but I'm not sure how much fun it would be for daily driving, autocrossing, or road racing.
This all may change when the alky gets installed and the boost gets cranked. This will definitely give a big gain in torque, but I'm not sure if it will move the torque curve back to the left or just upwards.

Int fact, if someone had just showed me the plot and told me the supporting mods on the car without hinting at the turbo, I would have guessed it was a well set-up 3071 or maybe a 3076 with a smaller hotside.
In any event, interesting setup. And 400 whp with a flash and relatively few supporting mods is impressive with a moderately sized turbo.
Hopefully he can pick up the low end a bit with some more work.
