aol sti vs evo comparison!! EVO 9 WINS!!

4 Wheel Slide makes a good point. The intention of the post was just to bring recognition to an article and install some pride into the evo community. If STI owners are coming to this site to post arguments, maybe they're having doubts about their purchase of cars.

The day anyone buys an Evo, it's also the day you gain several rivals. It's only natural to have pride in what you own, and thus think and feel it's better than the competition. This is why so many wars are fought over nationalism.

I'm just glad I can cart 2 kids around in the back seat and still get to 60 in less than 5 seconds. There is no way in hell I would get a 400HP GTO and attempt to drive it in the winter let alone try and get 2 kids in and out.
Thank God for the Evo and STi, 2 4-door wonder cars.
I could have gone either way, but I was focusing all my attention on the Evo and reading the most about it so that swayed me alot.
I really didn't know all that much about Subaru and didn't care to at the time because I figured Mitsubishi refined the 4g63 enough over the years that by now I thought it had to be bulletproof beyond what it was in the day with the Eclipse. Plus I also owned a 1993 GSx Eclipse so I was already familiar with Mitsu.

Both great cars. To extract any noticable performance difference between the two, especially on the road is almost impossible. Both will attack twisty bumpy roads with relative ease, in the hands of the average driver and leave everything else in their tracks.
I chose to go with subaru. Why?? To me it had more character, and the engine note is awesome. It was as simple as that.

I think this comparison says it best (Clarkson driving both in Scotland, and yes, as a disclaimer, I will admit that I'm a big Clarkson fan). Basically, it's a tie. And every time I watch this video I keep thinking to myself why I ever left Scotland in the first place :-(
Personally, I chose the EVO because right now, it's more exclusive (as in I see more STIs on the road than I do EVOs). Plus in buying a new car (2006), I like the look of the EVO better (I don't like that new front end on the STI). Also, since there's already an Imprezza in the family (aka scoobybill), I thought I'd give him the chance to drive the better car

Actually I am pretty interested in this kind of review. I test drove an STi and an Evo in the same day. Before I drove them I "knew" that I liked the STi better for a bunch of reasons. I bought an Evo. Different stroke for different folks, they are both good cars, but I'm sure glad I took the time to test them!
