make your evo somewhat theftproof !

is the immobilizer utilized by the ecu?
say, for example - i want to steal your car and I bring my key along with my ecu and remove yours, plug in mine, and use my key. is that the way the keys are set to work?
In the honda world, people have taken out their ecu's, made kill switches, taken off steering wheels. if someone really wants the car, a tow truck is all that is needed.

I don't think that many pro thieves target the Evo. There isn't enough of a market for the parts being such a low production volume car. That's why civics and accords are popular. There's tons of them. The Evo also doesn't really blend in very well.
So to me that means most stolen Evos will be punk *** joy riders. Who are probably not smart enough or willing to invest the time to look for the missing fuse or any other immobilizer you have on there. They aren't familiar with your car and would probably not have much of an idea of where to start looking because of all the options of where to put starter / ignition/ battery/ fuel kills. I don't see there being that many super mechanical genuis car thieves in my area. I could be wrong though.

Anyone else seen that episode of Myth Busters where they put a bullet in a fuse box and when they put a current through the circuit, the bullet discharges. Now thats theft proof!

What i use to deter theft. A very sophisticated high tech alarm system.

what the heck is the point of this... who in their right mind wants to open the hood and take out a fuse in which are immobilizer in our cars already does if the thief doesnt have the correct key. this isnt overkill, its pointless.

Another good idea if you want your car not to be stolen is get a steering wheel hub. No steering wheel no drive. Its a good deterrant anyways, The theif looks inside doesnt see a steering wheen and walks away.
