make your evo somewhat theftproof !

Im sure many of you guys know this already some may not thats why im posting .
On our evo's we have 2 fuse boxes, the big square one and the skinny long one right next to it. Well to make your evo's somewhat theftproof , hoping they dont have a tow truck ,you can take out the fuse located in the long skinny fuse box in the engine bay, this will allow the car to have power so the theif wont think the battery is dead , it acts like a starter immobilzer , it wont allow the vehicle to crank over , confusing the theif making him think indeed you do have a custom immobilzer. Ill try and post some pics of where to remove the fuse

Correct me if im wrong but, our cars already have an engine immobilizer. Try it out yourself. Get a copy of your key made, and start the car with it. It'll start the first time and die within seconds. It wont start again unless you use your key with the chip in it.

Sure you can take out the fuse if you like. Kind of overkill but, to each his/her own. Good info none the less

taking the fuse out is just an extra incentive to avoid getting your car stolen...it is a good idea IMO. post a pic so we can see which fuse it is, or tell which one it is.

Even though we have an immobilizer, the engine will still crank until our car realize the program key was not used, then it will shut off. Correct me if im wrong, this is like a starter kill where the car wont crank at all, even for a few seconds or minutes.....If this really works, it doesn't hurt to try it.

Yep the immobilizer really does works. I tried starting my car with a duplicate, it did start for a few seconds then it died. Im wondering, are those steering locks or pedal locks really effective? Im gonna live in an apartment complex and doesnt have a private garage. I will be parking on the streets so, dyou think I still need those steering locks for my car? Or the immobilizer is fine?

When i lost my key for my pedal club, i was able to pick it with a smaller key and unlock it. After that i never bother using a club. A starter kill and a back up battery for your alarm is the way to go for added security...

I opted for the new LoJack which immediately calls your cell phone if the alarm is triggered, glass broken, engine started, etc. (along with the factory alarm).

And for backup I depend on my Benelli M-4 12ga Tactical Shotgun loaded with 00-Buck.
